We would like to congratulate Julie and Tom Bridge as the breeders of "Alfons" and also his co-owner Ansgar Kartheiser (Langenbungert) for his dedication in the training of this top class male.
Always in super condition and trained to perfection, "Alfons" was one of the few males called into the centre of the Stadium in Braunschweig by Herr R Meyer and congratulated for his excellent courage test during the protection phase of the competition.
Our personal involvement with "Alfons" stems from the 15 months that his sire, "Mentos" was resident with us here at "Belezra", and at the same time producing other top winners here in the UK such as "Rustanville Erasmus" whose dam lived with us for two weeks to ensure a litter for Ann and Mike Ruston.
The commitment to ensure that Tom and Julie got "Fina v Langenbungert" mated when they were convinced that "Mentos" was the right male for her, involved quite a lot of time and effort on behalf of both Tom and myself, which resulted in a very satisfactory conclusion and an excellent male.
Hopefully "Alfons" will continue his winning ways returning to
Germany with Ansgar.
Both Gill and I wish the Astana Team all the very best in the future.

** Following on from making SG3 at the UK Spectacular Show in one of the best Junior classes this year, "Usharrgo Malan", who is now owned in partnership with Rob and Emma Cooper, wins Special Yearling under Neil Dodds at the South West Working and Pastoral Breeds Show 5/5/07. Well done to Rob and Emma for her super condition.
** "Astana Cellie del Belezra" Hips and Elbows "a" Normal (Germany), "Usharrgo Malan" hips total 16 (UK). For the future, "Paziva "and "Pacino", "Onyx's" first puppies in the UK, preliminary hip x-rays look very good.

The first Puppies from "Onyx" are very pleasing, excellent type and very good conformation. "Onyx" is very typical of his sire "VA Ghandi von Arlett". Those who saw "Onyx" at Sheffield when being awarded the Reserve CC would have noted his super temperament and outgoing nature, a real top class male.

"Onyx" was
awarded the Res CC at his first show in the UK today, 15/4/07, at Sheffield GSD
Club Show under the respected SV Judge Mr Percy Elliott (Vikkas).
After being awarded 2nd place in an excellent Open Class, "Onyx" then took the
Reserve CC. We would like to thank Andy Djurittschek for his excellent
handling of "Onyx" and thanks to all those who congratulated us, and our friends
from Cornwall for their support.

The beautiful "Shila vom Murtall" is confirmed in whelp to "Onyx vom Estherlager". The date for this long awaited litter from "Shila" is the end of March. We are confident this mating will produce excellent puppies. "Onyx" first litter in the UK has given us "Ziva" (dam "Vashika Xiska del Belezra").

"Mallie" now moves up to Junior in the New Year and we would like to thank all those Judges who have given her top gradings in the past 6 months. Well done also to all those involved in her training and handling, especially Kate Cooper and Richard Morgan. "Mallie" was from the first litter bred by Emma and Rob Cooper out of "Belezra Jenna von Usharrgo", the excellent "Zapp" daughter. This exciting young female continues to win against excellent competition.
Her latest success is winning Best Puppy in Show at the Heads of the Valley GSD
Club on 3/12/06. Handled by Richard Morgan, Kate and myself in her last 5
shows she has been unbeaten in her classes which include, 1st Minor Puppy BAGSD
Championship Show, 4 times Best Puppy in Breed Open Shows, and also Best of
Breed. Gill and I would like to wish Emma, Rob, and Kate Cooper continued
success with "Mallie" in the Junior Classes next year.

After residing at Belezra, "Mentos" returned to Oberhausen Germany and competed in the 2006 SV Bundessieger-Zuchtschau. Watching him gain his position of V42 in the Gebrauchshundklasse was very rewarding and seeing his son "Astana Alfons" make SG14 in the Jugendklasse gave us great satisfaction. Well done to Tom and Julie Bridge, "Astana", owners and breeders of this super dog .
"Mentos" who is co-owned, lived with us for the whole of his duration in the UK and has now produced winners both here and in Germany. This was an excellent result for "Mentos" who we selected to come to the UK at just 14 months of age. Our thanks also must go to David Bowen, "Lararth", who was involved with his acquisition.
