SCHUTZHUND EXAM SUNDAY 28/10/06

We are very pleased to announce the first Schutzhund Exam was held in Cornwall on Sunday, where we had 2 SchH and 6 BH qualifications. We would like to thank Eric Roberts (Judge) and Danny Roberts (Helper) with this, our first Exam. We were lucky in that after all the recent bad weather, it stayed fine with some sunshine and everyone from our branch had a super day. This is the first of many anticipated future events and we welcome any other enthusiasts who wish to join us.

Our commitment to produce and promote the complete German Shepherd, preserving and developing the best physical and temperamental attributes of the breed of which in the future we hope to have all our breeding stock titled such as our recently acquired “Shila vom Murrtal” SchH1, currently in Germany for her Koerung.
Schutzhund is an Internationally recognized Dog Sport consisting of 3 phases:
TRACKING - OBEDIENCE - PROTECTION
All aiming to develop and evaluate the dog’s mental stability, structural efficiency, willingness to work, courage and trainability.
Training our dogs using motivation techniques with food, a ball, a game of tug, creates a happy working dog, a dog that can also be exhibited in the conformation ring and a loyal family companion.
* Shortly we will be having a seminar and weekend training event here at Crowan for all those interested in the sport of Schutzhund.
